A mechanical watch is a watch that uses a mechanical mechanism to measure the passage of time, as opposed to modern quartz watches which function electronically. It is driven by a spring which must be wound periodically. Its force is transmitted through a series of gears to power the balance wheel, which oscillates back and forth at a constant rate. This makes the 'ticking' sound characteristic of all mechanical watches. Since the 1970's, quartz watches have taken over most of the watch market, and mechanical watches are now a high-end product, purchased for aesthetic reasons, appreciation of their fine craftsmanship, and as a status symbol.

Our process starts with the finest quality leathers. They are tanned by one of the oldest and continuously operating tanneries in Europe. These premium-grade cowhides meet the specification of the finest bag manufacturers in Europe. Top of the line leather means you won't find any bug bites, scratches, or scrapes in our work! This smooth, supple veg-tan leather ages perfectly and is excellent for tooling. All of our leather products are sealed and polished with a protective wax.
